For Guitars with Bigger Screw Holes M5 Large Head Screws
Some bolt-on guitars especially budget models from Asian factories (Harley Benton, Squier Affinity, SX, etc.) use screws with larger heads than the Fender standard. If your neck plate has bigger holes that standard M4 screws sit loose in, this is the kit you need.
What’s Included
- 4 stainless steel machine screws (M5, 45mm, larger head)
- 4 zinc-plated threaded steel inserts (M5)
- Free precision mounting tool
- Illustrated instruction manual
M5 vs M4 Which Do I Need?
Measure your existing screws:
- M4 (4mm shaft diameter) Standard Fender-style, most vintage and mid-range guitars
- M5 (5mm shaft diameter, larger head) Common on budget imports, some Asian-made guitars
If you’re unsure, measure the screw shaft diameter with calipers. The screw head size is a clue too M5 heads are 9mm, M4 heads are 7.3mm.
