The 40mm Specialist Perfect for Jazz Bass & Shorter Bolt-On Joints
Not every bolt-on guitar uses 45mm screws. If your instrument has a thinner body or shallow neck pocket like many Jazz Basses, some Telecasters, and various import guitars you need 40mm screws. This kit gives you exactly the right length, no guessing required.
What’s Included
- 4 stainless steel machine screws (M4, 40mm, Phillips head)
- 4 zinc-plated threaded steel inserts (M4)
- Free precision mounting tool
- Illustrated instruction manual
Why 40mm?
Using a screw that’s too long risks punching through the fretboard. Using one that’s too short means a weak joint. Measure your existing screws if they’re around 40mm, this is your kit. Jazz Basses are the most common guitars that use this length, but always measure first. Every instrument is different.
How It Works
Drill a 6.5mm hole, thread in the inserts with the included mounting tool, and bolt the neck on. The threaded inserts create permanent metal threads in the wood so you can remove and reattach the neck as many times as you want, without stripping anything. Better sustain, tighter joint, zero worry.
